Adam McCulloch

The Wedding Singer

You might have seen The Wedding Singer, starring another famous Adam.

This film was not based on my own life, but the title is a nice way to describe me, Adam McCulloch.

I have performed at hundreds and hundreds of weddings: as the frontman in a band, and as a solo artist, in venues across the UK. I’ve also played at destination weddings in Turkey, Greece and Switzerland. I’ve played piano as brides have made their aisle entrance, strummed my acoustic guitar through enough afternoon drinks to fill a swimming pool or twenty and I’ve sung Mr Brightside more than Brandon Flowers could ever possibly dream of doing.

Despite being a busy songwriter and music marketing maestro (and a really cool, down-to-earth, modest guy), I love to play live music. Along with public gigs where you can come and see what all the fuss is about, I take on a select number of bookings every year to make your special day extra special.

I keep the number low because I want to give the couples I work with the utmost attention and the star treatment that you deserve.

I will take as many requests as you can possibly throw at me. I will take song requests on the day from your guests (after more than a decade of performing at weddings and private events, I know all the good ones). I can meet you before the date to put you at ease and pass the “I’m-not-a-weirdo-honest” test. I can even sort out all those boring things that your venue keeps asking you about, because I’ve done this wedmin malarkey more times than you can say “What does PLI stand for?”

Under the covers

So, you’re looking for a wedding singer…but what does that mean? Here is an example of what I offer:

  • Acoustic guitar and vocal performances for your big day.

  • Flexible packages to suit your event, from ceremony music to make your entrance truly unique, to afternoon drinks and early evening sets.

  • Unlimited choice of songs. Whether you fancy some upbeat contemporary tunes, some swinging sixties classics or maybe lots of songs by 5ive (go on, I dare you), I’ve got you covered.

  • Quality equipment provided that can take the party al fresco, with background music provided between sets.

This is a quick overview, but let’s have a chat and I’ll always go the extra mile. Need a microphone and speaker for speeches? I can help. Want me to stick around and play your first dance? I’d love to. Want me to play some piano for your ceremony to set the mood? Oh, go on then.

“Play one we know!”

HOW MUCH?!

Afternoon Drinks

Tunes to toast the happy couple. Whether it’s relaxed summer vibes or you want to get the party started early, the afternoon drinks set will keep you and your guests entertained before (gulp) speeches.

Ceremony + Afternoon Drinks

Live music for your ceremony gives you a chance to put your own personal stamp on the ceremony, with songs for the arrival, signing of the registry and the exit. Bring on the confetti!

Ceremony + Afternoon Drinks + Evening Set (Including First Dance)

If you’re worried those evening guests are going to miss out on all of the fun, an early evening set and a truly unique first dance experience will make your day a musical extravaganza.

These prices and packages are a ROUGH guide, based on weddings in and around Derbyshire. The key word is flexible: if you have different timings in mind, a wedding taking place later in the day or want some help with a service not listed here, I’ll be happy to help.

Go on then - let’s hear ya

Ok, a quick disclaimer: I’ve not filmed any quality solo recordings for a long, long time. Here are a few videos to prove that I can walk the walk, but come to a gig, wait for me to get my act together…or if you ask nicely, I can send a video recording of the track of your choice.

The reviews are in…

  • Where do we start with Adam?! He absolutely went above and beyond on our wedding day and made it the most amazing day ever. We both love music, so this was an important part in our big day. Firstly, Adam’s communication was second to none, he responded quickly and answered any questions which we had. Adam was happy for us to throw song requests at him both before the day and from guests on the day, whether it be him singing them live on the piano, or playing requests on the dance floor. Numerous guests told us they had asked Adam to sing a song during the day and he immediately sang the requested songs ( impeccably I must add!). You will honestly make your day by booking Adam as your musician for your wedding or event, not only is Adam amazingly talented, but he’s also a great person too. Everyone commented on how great Adam was, from the guests to the staff. We will 100% be using Adam again for any future parties we have. Thank you Adam for making our day so memorable, it wouldn’t have been as good without you!

  • Adam was an absolute delight to deal with. He was extremely helpful prior to our wedding and his communication put us instantly at ease. Adam went above and beyond to make sure we were confident ahead of the day and even sent us a mini-recording as a preview! On the day Adam's performance was spot on, us and our guests thought he was fantastic. Nothing was too much effort for Adam and he really added to our special day. We couldn't be happier with him.

  • We had We Have You Covered for our band at our wedding and they were honestly AMAZING!!! You need to book these guys!! We had all ranges of ages from 11-82 and the music was outstanding as was the performance. They learned our first dance song and other requests ( which was not on their repertoire). They were totally professional, yet welcoming to requests and made everyone enjoy the night. All our guests could not stop complimenting the guys all night and weeks after the wedding. I would totally recommend them to anyone for any occasion - I want to get married again just to have them play!! In the running up to the wedding, they were constantly in contact, reassuring us and asking if we required any special songs, which they learned at the very last minute for me and my dad to dance to. They are an absolute joy to listen to and watch - Do not hesitate to book this awesome band!! Many thanks, Mr and Mrs Walsh.

  • Adam was amazing! My whole wedding party did not sit down while he played! He sang every song that was requested, there was nothing he couldn’t sing and every song was perfect! Everyone commented how great he was and without a doubt we would book him again! Thank you Adam for such an amazing night!

    Lori Campion, Dumfriesshire Wedding

  • Adam was fantastic from start to finish! He is such a great guy and very talented. He made contact prior to our booking to go through everything and check if we had any special requests. He was brilliant on the day, he did a great variety of songs and also guest requests on the day. Our guests loved him! Highly recommend, thanks so much!

    Rebecca Turner, Northamptonshire Wedding

  • Adam was brilliant from first contact right through to our wedding day. His vocal skills are amazing, and he happily changed his agreed song list to make sure that guest requests could be accommodated. He is incredibly professional and fitted in perfectly!

FAQs

  • I sure do! And I only use the best. As long as I have access to a least one plug socket, we're golden (no diva demands here).

  • Oh, I travel boy. These days, I try to keep things a little more local with weddings: anywhere around a one hour drive from Matlock, Derbyshire. If your wedding is further afield, do get in touch because I might be feeling adventurous. I'll always help to recommend other trusted acts if I can't make it, too.

  • You can! Sharing your playlists is really useful, as it helps me know more about the type of music that you're looking for, all while judging your taste in music.

  • Wow, nobody has ever asked me that before.

I love The Beatles, I get a kick playing big eighties numbers and I enjoy some rock and indie. I also love a bit of Disney and some naff 00s pop.

But what I really like to play is whatever you want me to play.

  • No, we split up over creative differences.

Only kidding, I had the pleasure of playing with some amazing musicians with We Have You Covered, but we all lead busy lives. Do ask though, you might just choose a weekend where we're all available. And if not, I can put you in touch with some other great bands.

  • This can change depending on the venue and event, but usually it's within half an hour from arriving to making some noise. I always arrive early, so even if your wedding is literally up a mountain (been there, done that), I'll be ready to rock.

  • Not to brag, but yes I do. These are without a doubt the dullest part of your big day, so feel free to pass on the details of your venue/wedding coordinator/a person called Pat and I'll sort it so that you don't have to.

  • As quickly as possible! No, there's no need for deposits to secure the date. Once we've confirmed the booking, I'll send over an invoice with all of my payment details. If you need to wait until after the wedding, you can pay then (unless you're deciding to go on a honeymoon to the Himalayas).

  • Please do! I play a number of gig residencies in and around Derbyshire. Get in touch and help me grow my fanbase.

  • I said “Maybeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.”

    Yes.
